Unknown. Akin to Vizha Laz კვანჩხუჲ (ǩvançxuy, “to shine, glimmer”).

Inherited from Proto-Georgian-Zan *ḳwerc₁x- (“to break up, split, crush, smash”). Cognate with Georgian კვერცხი (ḳvercxi, “egg”).

   babak xomula mç̌ǩudi ǩvançxums. ťuʒa çorba yobasen do heşşo ç̌ǩomasen.

   My father is chopping dry bread. He will pour the hot soup over it and eat it.
