From (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Old Georgian ძელი (ʒeli), from (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Proto-Georgian-Zan *ʒ₁el-. Cognate with Mingrelian ჯა (ǯa, tree) and Laz ჯა (ca, tree). Compare also Old Armenian ձեղուն (jełun).
