Ancient Greek[edit]
Etymology[edit]
The comparison with Hittite [script needed] (ḫatuki-, “terrible”) and Sanskrit तुज्य (tujya, “to be pushed, impelled”) convinces both formally and semantically, suggesting a derivation from Proto-Indo-European *h₂tug- (“to be terrified”).
