1. "I'll take care of it." Set phrase said by cashier while receiving payment from a customer.

   一(いち)万(まん)円(えん)お預(あず)かり致(いた)します。

   Ichiman-en o-azukari itashimasu.

   I (humbly) hold on to 10,000 yen now.

Usage notes

• This term is frequently written in hiragana.
• This is only used when the speaker is expected to hand out the change. If the payment requires no change at all, the speaker will instead say 丁(ちょう)度(ど)頂(いただ)きます (chōdo itadakimasu, “I humbly receive the exact payment”).
