Etymology

From the contraction of final き (ki) in the 連体形(れんたいけい) (rentaikei) forms of ク活用(かつよう) (ku-katsuyō) and シク活用(かつよう) (shiku-katsuyō) adjectives with earlier 所(あく) (aku).

Usage notes

• This form is used after the basic non-inflected stem of ク活用(かつよう) (ku-katsuyō) and シク活用(かつよう) (shiku-katsuyō) adjectives; e.g. 安(やす)けく (yasukeku), 悲(かな)しけく (kanashikeku).
