Etymology[edit]

Compound of ‎(tai, big) +‎ した ‎(shita, did, done), the perfective of する ‎(suru, to do), used here to indicate a state as opposed to an action.

大した ‎(hiragana たいした, romaji taishita)

Usage notes[edit]

Although this is formed using した, the perfective or past-tense of する, the imperfective or present tense form *大する (*taisuru) is not used.
