- 承和 (“Jōwa era”) is preceded by 天長 (tenchō, “Tenchō”) and followed by 嘉祥 (kashō, “Kashō”).
- Not to be confused with 貞和, the Jōwa era of 1345–1350, with 正和, the Shōwa era of 1312–1317, or with 昭和, the Shōwa era of 1926–1989.
