trad. (渭陽)
simp. (渭阳)

Pronunciation

  1. (archaic) Weiyang (an ancient placename north of the Wei River)

Usage notes

In Romance of the Three Kingdoms/Chapter 13, Li Yue loses a battle against Guo Si at Weiyang. However, Records of Three Kingdoms describes the same episode as having taken place in Caoyang (曹陽 - southwest of present day Shan County, Henan). Therefore, it is now generally thought that "Weiyang" may have actually been a copy error.
