Derived from (nyal, “blade, edge”) (Modern (nal, “blade”)): (nyal) + (h) + 갑다 (-gapda) lead to 냘캅다 (nyalkapda), then the "y" sound was lost, leading to analysis as 날카 (nalka) + 롭다 (-ropda).
