Korean

Etymology

From Sino-Korean 부탁 (付託, butak, “request, favor”) + native Korean —하다 (-hada, “to do”).

Pronunciation

  • (SK Standard/Seoul) IPA(key): [ˈpu(ː)tʰa̠kʰa̠da̠]
  • Phonetic hangul: [(ː)]
    • Though still prescribed in Standard Korean, most speakers in both Koreas no longer distinguish vowel length.
