Etymology

From 좋아 (joa), stem of 좋다 (jota, “to be good”) + 하다 (hada, “to be or do”).

Pronunciation

  • (SK Standard/Seoul) IPA(key): [ˈt͡ɕo̞(ː)a̠ɦa̠da̠]
  • Phonetic hangul: [(ː)]
    • Though still prescribed in Standard Korean, most speakers in both Koreas no longer distinguish vowel length.
