From 준 (jun, past determiner form of 줄다 (julda)) + 말 (mal).

- (SK Standard/Seoul) IPA(key): [ˈt͡ɕu(ː)nma̠ɭ]
- Phonetic hangul: [준(ː)말]
- Though still prescribed in Standard Korean, most speakers in both Koreas no longer distinguish vowel length.
