  • Although occasionally used as a noun in isolation, 처절 (cheojeol) is generally encountered as the non-verbal element of the light verb construction 처절하다 (cheojeol-hada). When conveying the noun meaning, the more common form is the verbal noun 처절함 (cheojeol-ham).
