Sino-Korean word from 湯水, from (hot water) + (water). Compare Japanese 湯水(ゆみず) (yumizu, hot and cold water).

  • Phonetic hangul: [(ː)]
    • Though still prescribed in Standard Korean, most speakers in both Koreas no longer distinguish vowel length.
