(hāʾ) (initial form of ه (h))

  1. Normally the twenty-sixth letter of the Arabic alphabet, when this letter is used in this initial form as an enumerator, it is interpreted as the fifth letter in traditional abjad order, equivalent to the Roman numeral V or (see abjad numerals). It is preceded by د (d) and followed by و (w).
