[edit]Inherited from Proto-Turkic *yǖŕ (“hundred”). Cognate with Chuvash ҫӗр (śĕr), Khalaj yü̂z, Azerbaijani yüz (“hundred”), Turkish yüz (“hundred”), Uzbek yuz, Bashkir йөҙ (yöź), Yakut сүүс (süüs).
