  1. (frequentative suffix, rare) Added to a verb to form a verb to express the frequent repetition of an action.
    öl (to kill)öldököl (to slaughter, massacre)

Usage notes

  • (frequentative suffix) It is used only by a few one-syllable verbs. No longer productive. Variants:
    -dokol is added to back-vowel verbs
    -dekel is added to unrounded front-vowel verbs
    -dököl is added to rounded front-vowel verbs
