Possibly from Latin (deprecated template usage) mineo, from Ancient Greek (deprecated template usage) μηνύω (mēnúō).

Derived from the Latin suffix (deprecated template usage) -menta in collective nouns like (deprecated template usage) armenta. Latin -menta stems from two Proto-Indo-European suffixes: Template:proto and Template:proto (Template:proto).
