Etymology

From Ottoman Turkish طایامق (dayamak), from Old Turkic [script needed] (taya-, to lean against)[1], from Proto-Turkic *daja- (to prop, to lean).[2]

Pronunciation

dayamak (third-person singular simple present dayar)

  1. (transitive) to lean against, rest
  2. (slang) to frot
