Unclear:

Per Loewenthal, may be akin to Proto-Slavic *šępa (handful) (whence Bulgarian ше́па (šépa)), Old Church Slavonic охѫпити (oxǫpiti, to seize, to grasp).

  1. expensive, valuable, overpriced (for a merchandise)
