1. Form of the suffix ـی for words that end in the short vowel ـه (-e)

   مردانه (mardâne, “masculine, manly”) + ـگی (gi) = مردانگی (mardânegi, “masculinity, manliness”)

   برهنه (berahne, “naked, nude”) + ـگی (gi) = برهنگی (berahnegi, “nudity”)

Usage notes

Usually only forms nouns from adjectives. Most adjectives formed from nouns ending in -e use the non-joining form ای (-i).
