From lavar + -dura, or from a Vulgar Latin *lavatūra, from Latin lavō (“I wash”).

- Synonym: lavado
- wash water that, because of the rests of aliments it contains, is fed to the pigs
- (by extension) soup for feeding the pigs, prepared with greens, potato peels, turnips, bran and leftovers
