@Kutchkutch: Oh, I did not know there are so many of these. I think these appendices are unnecessary, and the only thing that we should be creating is new dictionary entries for surnames (and given names). A list of surnames (not in category form) would hardly help us in creating new entries, because the editors working in a particular language would already be knowing what surnames to create. Furthermore, dividing this list by literally caste seems unproductive, as we do not mention caste (or religion) in our entries. Finally, we do not know if the spellings or the names in these lists are reliable, and some people may even be relying on them to create new entries. Thus, these appendices are useless that we should get rid of, since they serve no purpose. ·~ dictátor·mundꟾ 17:14, 27 November 2021 (UTC)Reply
