     The Asatruans, who take their name from an Icelandic term meaning "those true to the Gods," are a northern California–based religious group who trace their pre-Christian ancestry to Scandinavian and Germanic tribes of northern Europe. The Asatruans sued to stop the United States government from repatriating the bones to the Indian claimants.
