Etymology[edit]
Identical with Ashkenazim, but formed on the pattern of Ashchenaz, the spelling of the name of the Biblical figure found in the Bible's First Book of the Chronicles, as opposed to Ashkenaz, the spelling which occurs in the Book of Genesis.
