Cape hyrax (plural Cape hyraxes or Cape hyraces)

  1. The Procavia capensis (P. capensis). A mammal with a rodent-like appearance, but not closely related, related instead to the elephant, found in Africa and the Middle East.
    1. An animal of this kind of the subpopulation found in Southern/South Africa.
