I'd like to move contents from Category:Phrasebook to Category:English phrasebook and Category:Phrasebooks by language, then delete the first category. --Daniel. 03:52, 29 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Support splitting the category. (As a side question, are all entries in this category also supposed to be in the phrases category? I made {{phrasebook}} a while ago to be used in the inflection line, but it's mostly unused...) --Yair rand 04:03, 29 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
I don't think we should confound PoS (header, inflection line template, or category) with membership in Category:Phrasebook. A truly useful phrasebook would not be limited to items in Category:English phrases or not in Category:English idioms. It should consist of terms of any PoS that are useful for common situations in daily life. For example, greetings in Category:English phrasebook might include both hello and how's it hanging. This would seem like a policy issue, which I'd support. Or I think so. Let me think a bit. Mglovesfun (talk) 19:00, 29 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
A template {{phrasebook}} would be more suitable as context in definition lines, like the {{idiom}} (Example: [1]). That said, I support double categorization - a "phrasebook" entry in English merits a place in both [[Category:English phrases]] and [[Category:English phrasebook]]. And, I oppose Phrasebook header - the Phrase header is true, complete and more intuitive. --Daniel. 19:27, 29 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
Re "are all entries in this category also supposed to be in the phrases category?", the latter doesn't traditionally take one-word entries, whereas Phrasebook does. (Thanks is in it but not in "Phrases", e.g.)—msh210 17:27, 1 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

Kept, as this is a policy issue, not a deletion one. I will start the vote myself. Mglovesfun (talk) 13:16, 17 February 2010 (UTC)Reply
