I'm guessing "Category:Rhymes:English/eɪd͡ʒ" and "Category:Rhymes:English/eɪdʒ" should be merged? Which one should remain? — Sgconlaw (talk) 16:45, 27 March 2024 (UTC)
- The one spelled "eɪdʒ", since that's how it's spelled at Rhymes:English/eɪdʒ. This is why I wish
{{rhymes}}
didn't automatically categorize entries. —Mahāgaja · talk 16:59, 27 March 2024 (UTC)- Don't we usually use /d͡ʒ/ to transcribe the sound though? — Sgconlaw (talk) 21:10, 27 March 2024 (UTC)
- We use both, but the convention established in the Rhymes: namespace is to transcribe affricates without the tie bar. Of course we can change the convention, but then someone will have to go through all the Rhymes pages with an affricate and move them. Seems like a lot of trouble for something that's basically a stylistic decision. —Mahāgaja · talk 21:37, 27 March 2024 (UTC)
- @Mahagaja: that makes sense. — Sgconlaw (talk) 01:49, 30 March 2024 (UTC)
