Now that we're moving toward having {{bor}} without the automatically generated "Borrowing from" text, can we edit Template:borrowing to remove the bit that adds these categories, and delete them? —Aɴɢʀ (talk) 08:59, 28 August 2017 (UTC)

Please keep for now. These categories are supposed to be available to help with moving toward having {{bor}} without the automatically generated "Borrowing from" text.

@CodeCat, Daniel Carrero: I can see how CAT:bor without notext and CAT:bor with notext are still helpful while work is underway, but I fail to see how the two "nocap" categories are of any use at all. —Aɴɢʀ (talk) 16:00, 28 August 2017 (UTC)

Category:bor with nocap tends to be populated with instances of "a borrowing" (with the article "a" added before the template), which is likely to help when determining how exactly the entries can be edited by bot or manually.

Category:bor without nocap is probably not actually needed as far as I thought of, unless we want to edit the entries that are not preceded by the article "a". I would propose keeping it anyway for now, just to check on the progress of this job and in case it's needed in some way. Obviously I would accept if people decide to delete some of these categories through this RFDO, but either way I plan on deleting the four categories after the work is done.
