[edit]Literally, “church of Mantán”, a personal name deriving from Old Irish mant (“gums, jaw”), from Proto-Brythonic *mant (whence Welsh mant (“mouth, jaw”)), cognate with Latin mentum (“chin”) and Gothic 𐌼𐌿𐌽𐌸𐍃 (munþs, “mouth”).
