From Ancient Greek δίς ‎(dís, twice, doubly) + πρωτο- ‎(prōto-) (combination form of πρῶτος ‎(prôtos, first), superlative of πρό ‎(pró, before)) + ὀδών ‎(odṓn, tooth) — "two front teeth".
