From Ancient Greek δίς (dís, “twice, doubly”) + πρωτο- (prōto-) (combination form of πρῶτος (prôtos, “first”), superlative of πρό (pró, “before”)) + ὀδών (odṓn, “tooth”) — "two front teeth".
