[edit]Etymology
[edit]From Polish piwo grodziskie (“Grodzisk beer”), from the town of Grodzisk Wielkopolski where it was traditionally brewed.
Noun
[edit]Grodziskie (plural Grodziskies)
- A top-fermenting ale from Poland brewed with smoked wheat malt.
- 2015, Jeff Alworth, The Beer Bible[2], →ISBN, page 351:
- Krebs's finest went above and beyond by not only tracking down an original Grodziskie yeast strain from Poland, but also convincing Germany's Weyermann Malts to introduce oak-smoked wheat malt. Add Polish Lublin hops and you have the closest thing to the last historical Grodziskies.
