- (Haarlemmermeer) Attested as Half wegen in 1680. Derived from halfweg (“halfway”). The settlement was named for its location halfway between Haarlem and Amsterdam.
- (Noardeast-Fryslân) Calque of West Frisian Healwei, derived in turn from healwei (“halfway”). The settlement was named for its location midway between Warfstermolen and De Leegte.
- (Terschelling) Derived from halfweg (“halfway”). See also West Frisian Healwei.
- (Purmerend) Derived from halfweg (“halfway”). The hamlet was named for its location midway between Middenbeemster and Purmerend.
- (Overijssel) Attested as Halfweg in 1899. Derived from halfweg (“halfway”). The settlement was named for its location midway between Staphorst and de Wijk.
- (Zuid-Holland) Attested as Halfwegen in 1867. Derived from halfweg (“halfway”). The settlement was named for its location halfway between Leiden and Haarlem.
