- The word is the standard and most common form in Austria and South Tyrol, and can also be found less commonly in Switzerland and Southern Germany. (This is in contrast to the Austrian Feber, which is now commonly replaced with Februar even in Austria.)
- People who do not have some contact with speakers from these areas will likely not know, and hence not understand, this term.
