Calque of Dutch Kleverlands, German Kleverländisch, from Kleverland, from the town of Kleve (“Cleves”).

- A dialect group of Low Franconian spoken in the eastern Netherlands (between Venlo and Nijmegen) and in western Germany (along the Rhine north of Duisburg).
