Adding the specific language to links
[edit]Hello Erutuon, I have noticed that your module is used to generate the links in the tables of the IPA pronunciation key page. After looking at these links, I had an idea for an improvement. Right now, the links are linking to the whole article of the word and not to the specific language section, which would be more useful. For example, the link of the French word "de" is https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/de and not https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/de#French. Can you change your code so that it adds the specific language to the link? Do you even think this a useful improvement? I would do this myself, but I don't know how to code in this programming language. Tc14Hd (talk)
- @Tc14Hd: That would be a big improvement, but it's not simple to do because the module doesn't know which link is in which column yet. It's not extremely simple because wikitext is not very easy to parse in vanilla Lua. I'm not sure if I'll work on this. — Eru·tuon 02:16, 28 June 2021 (UTC)
- @Erutuon: Thanks for the quick reply. After looking into this a bit, I can also see that this change is not so easy to implement. Maybe I will look deeper into Lua programming and try implementing it myself. — This unsigned comment was added by Tc14Hd (talk • contribs) at 09:31, 28 June 2021 (UTC).
- @Tc14Hd: Actually, figured it out! It now is formatted as if it used
