- (Zuid-Holland) Named after Noordwijk aan Zee and Noordwijk-Binnen.
- (Groningen) First attested as noertwijk and noortwijk in 1385. Compound of noord (“north-, northern”) and wijk (“farmstead, village, settlement”). See also Dutch Low Saxon Noordwiek.
- (Drenthe) First attested as Noordwijk in 1851-1855. Compound of noord (“north-, northern”) and the toponym de Wijk.
