Tagalog

Etymology

The original surname popularly known from Manuel L. Quezon, the second president of the Philippines, might have Hokkien origins as another variant of Quizon or Quison as evidenced with Manuel Quezon's father, Lucio Quezon, who was a Chinese-Spanish-Filipino mestizo from Paco, Manila, formerly known as Paco de Dilao or San Fernando de Dilao, who was loyal to the Spanish regime in the Philippines as a maestro (teacher) that taught Spanish and retired sargento (sergeant) of the Guardia Civil (Spanish Civil Guard in the Philippines).[1]

Quezon in Philippine Hokkien might come from Lua error in Module:parameters at line 290: Parameter 2 should be a valid language, etymology language or family code; the value "nan-hok" is not valid. See WT:LOL, WT:LOL/E and WT:LOF., transcribed with Philippine Spanish orthography in the Spanish colonial era of the Philippines.
