When the stem is in epsilon or in sigma

When the stem is in omicron

When the stem is in labial

When the stem is in unvoiced or aspirated velars or dentals

When the stem is in voiced velars or dentals

When the stem is in lambda

When the stem is in (now lost) digamma. (Contractions allowed only with the epsilon)

When the stem is in nasal or liquid (metathesis occurs; if the vowel is ε, ι, υ, this new iota vanishes lengthening the vowel)
