[edit]E-vocalism of Proto-Slavic *drobъ (“chunck; intestine”), from Proto-Indo-European *dʰrebʰ- (“to fracture”). Akin to Lithuanian drebėti (“to quiver, to tremble”), Latvian drebêt (“to quiver”).[1]
