Am I not correct that the base of this adjective is -ann- rather than -anþ- and that this base persisted up into PGmc? The appearance of an alveolar fricative þ/đ is only due to later Germanic consonantal mutations, nnC -> dC. — This unsigned comment was added by 213.77.26.161 (talk).

Given that it derives from PIE *ánteros, -anþ- seems more probable than -ann-. - -sche (discuss) 23:36, 18 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
