The form of this lemma

[edit]

@CodeCat, Vahagn Petrosyan, I'm curious what we think of this lemma? The EIEC proposes "*hₓóngl̥ (~ *hₓéngōl̥)", but Derksen wants a "hysterodynamic l-stem" ("*h₁ongʷ-l-"), and Martirosyan wants "*h₁óngʷ-ōl, gen. *h₁n̥gʷ-l-ós". De Vaan, in the entry for ignis, give "*h₁ongʷ-l-". No one seems to be reconstructing the form given here exactly. If anything, the evidence seems more like a proterokinetic *h₁óngʷ-l̥ ~ *h₁n̥gʷ-é-l-s with a collective *h₁éngʷ-ō-l ~ *h₁n̥gʷ-l-és. Any thoughts? —JohnC5 07:04, 6 June 2017 (UTC)Reply

This is above my pay grade, sorry. --Vahag (talk) 08:23, 6 June 2017 (UTC)Reply
