Pronunciation

"Ευ," as here "εύ," constitutes a diphthong in Ancient Greece; thus I would not expect the pronunciation of the ultima as "yooce." Medellia 22:15, 5 November 2006 (UTC)

Persian king?

Is it worth adding a fourth meaning referring specifically to the Persian king, since "basileus" without further clarifiction in ancient Greek texts (of a certain time period) tends to refer to the Persian king? Paul Willocx 20:11, 8 February 2007 (UTC)

You know, I was debating about that, but decided against it simply for simplicity's sake. But, the lexicons I'm looking at all mention it as an important usage, and if what you say is true (which seems likely, based on what I'm reading) it should be added. Consider it done.
