@Metaknowledge: I have written down a better explanation. The etymology wasn’t too obvious because the needed form of the base verb is unattested, so that only with a lot of comparisons thought aloud at حِسْل (ḥisl), having answered also خُلْد (ḵuld, “mole”) and even an Armenian term խլեզ (xlez, “lizard; slug”) we have revealed the origin.
