"ณ" when part of a royalty-related family name means 'of' or 'from' (the kingdom of...,) in similar fashion to German 'von' and French, Spanish and Portuguese de. The definition is needed here to support Wikipedia's new article on the House of Sundarakul na Jolburi, which is notable primarily for its inclusion of the particle, which in this singular case was not inherited through a noble blood line, but awarded by royal decree. For Kromma Khun Sundarabhubej, the first na Jolburi, กรม needs an entry. This word originally meant prince, but as a slew of princes became department heads during bureaucratization of Siamese government, it acquired its modern meaning of Royal Thai Department of this or that; Khun is covered under Wikipedia's Thai_royal_and_noble_titles#Khun. --Pawyilee 16:29, 1 October 2011 (UTC)
