Pronunciation

@Atitarev It seems like the respelling you want is "เบาะ-รู" (while the respelling according to Mr Stephen G. Brown's edit on 6 July 2009‎ is "บะ-รู"). Anyway, I didn't know how this word should be pronounced. I then looked for some useful stuff online and found a number of documentary videos on YouTube (such as this, this, and this), in all of which the term is pronounced "บฺรู" (one syllable). So, I added "บฺรู" as the pronunciation and made this post to inform you and anyone concerned. --YURi (talk) 19:35, 21 August 2016 (UTC)

"บ็อ" is invalid. As a native speaker, I don't even know how it should be pronounced. But I think it's equivalent to the valid "เบาะ" (because the vowel "-อ" is generally shortened as "เ-าะ"). @YURi, Octahedron80 Thank you both. I think it's better to use (common) nouns, not proper nouns for Thai ethnicity names and language names. Does it have to follow English, is there a rule for that in Thai?

The phonemic "บ็อ-รู" I got from here, which seems incorrect in this case (the first part "บ็อ"). I'll use "เ-าะ" for short "ɔ". --Anatoli T. ^{(обсудить}/^вклад) 07:35, 22 August 2016 (UTC)
