儂 or 人?[edit]

人 appears to be the Mandarin character, however, as we're talking about w:Min Dong/w:Min Nan, appears to be the original character. 人 seems to be the MOE character, for which many people disagree with. Programmeruser (talk) 22:23, 13 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

@Programmeruser: We use 人 for the main entries because it's much more commonly attested and recommended by Taiwan's MoE. 儂 is usually suggested as the etymological character (see the etymology at ), and we use 儂 in our dialectal tables to highlight the difference between 儂 and 人. — justin(r)leung (t...) | c=› } 22:33, 13 August 2021 (UTC)Reply
