Rfv-sense "(literally) a flat rice paddy". —Suzukaze-c 02:07, 18 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • 平野に広がる「平田」から山間の「棚田」,また谷地形では「谷津田」や「谷戸田」がつくられ,それぞれに異なる稲作技術も存在した. [1]
  • 地形を利用した水田は、それぞれの地形と水の使用方法の違いから、平田・棚田・谷津田・谷戸田の4つに分けられます。 [2]

ひらた【平田】flat [unterraced] paddy fields; rice fields on flat land. (研究社 Online Dictionary - 新和英大辞典第5版). My comment: "a flat rice paddy" doesn't quite convey that meaning, since terraced paddy fields may flat (each one individually, I mean). Also, "(literally)" can be removed from the Wiktionary definition, I should think. Richwarm88 (talk) 23:53, 26 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
