Mandarin readings[edit]

Can it be added in which contexts the several different Mandarin readings are used? 173.88.241.33 01:18, 28 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

黄陂 Huangpi 高陂 Gaobei[edit]

Discussion moved from Talk:高陂.

I want to find explicit, credible proof that the second character in 高陂 is read as bei (and not pi) in Mandarin. --Geographyinitiative (talk) 10:31, 19 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Geographyinitiative A native of 高陂 pronounces it as bēi in this video. — justin(r)leung (t...) | c=› } 05:38, 21 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Justinrleung Yea, clearly said 'bei' there. I want to learn more about this character, so I am going to migrate this conversation to the 陂 page. There are several places in Hubei that use this character, and I think some among them may use the 'pi' pronunciation. Locations in Hubei which may or may not use the 'pi' pronunciation: 草陂村 团陂镇 柳陂镇 泉陂村 --Geographyinitiative (talk) 06:40, 21 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

(Of the four locations mentioned here, this town is the closest to Huangpi District.)
