@Tooironic Thanks for making this entry back in 2017. I believe (but don't know) that this word is a term of art in the technical bureaucratic terminology concerning cultural entertainment in the PRC- see for instance these examples on Wikimedia Commons: "音乐茶座"&title=Special:Search&profile=advanced&fulltext=1&ns0=1&ns6=1&ns12=1&ns14=1&ns100=1&ns106=1 are all government documents--- there are no pictures of an actual 音樂茶座. But I want to tell you that the phrase 'music teahouse', while literally accurate, means nothing to me because I have never seen such a place nor is one photographed on Wikimedia Commons. I think some kind of short explanation or gloss would be warranted. From what I'm seeing on Baidu Baike [1], it's like a KTV place. That's my comment- feel free to ignore if you don't have any input at this time. Xiandai Hanyu Guifan Cidian has a definition for it-- exactly what you think it would be: a teahouse with music playing. --Geographyinitiative (talk) 19:34, 11 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The Guifan cidian defines it as: "A place of leisure with audio equipment and guest singers where customers can enjoy music while drinking tea" (配有音响设备或请歌手演唱,顾客在喝茶的同时得到音乐享受的休闲场所), if that helps. ---> Tooironic (talk) 00:20, 12 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
